This whole time I have been blogging about Rome, I have used the words " Enduring Impacts" many times. So now you might ask, "What is an enduring impact?" To me an enduring impact is a change or impact on society that has lasted through civilizations, and can still be seen in modern times. The quote, "Seeing the world with new eyes” This means when you look at a situation, or a time period, you need to look at it from their perspective and the perspective of other peoples time period.
This is an Ancient Roman Road. The Romans built roads to help the army to travel faster, and more easily through the mountains and hills. We took the Romans idea and we now have roads and concrete to help us with daily transportation.
This is an aqueduct. An aqueduct was a system of pipes that carried clean water in and out of the city. The Romans invented indoor plumbing, which is what we use now. For example toilets, showers, and running water.
